Museums / Historical places

Closeby home you will of course find Anne Frank House, the Jordaan / Amsterdam Centre, and the Westerkerk. You will find all museums and places of interest (with links) at the I amsterdam site of the City of Amsterdam / Amsterdam Tourism Board (a.o.), as well as on the abovementioned site about the Jordaan / Amsterdam Centre. Music / Concerts / Theatre / Dance

All information about going out and the nightlife of Amsterdam can again be found on the I amsterdam site. Closeby home there are the warmly commended Noorderkerkconcerten (classical concerts in a lovely old church) on Saturday afternoons in the Jordaan. Of course there are also the famous concert halls like: Paradiso, the Melkweg and ‘t Bimhuis (for jazz lovers) and
the world famous Concertgebouw (where some of the best classical music in the world is performed) and many, many other places. 


Again, closeby home you will find The ‘9 little streets’ (‘de 9 straatjes’), the various markets on the Westerstraat / Lindengracht / Noordermarkt and the Haarlemmerstraat. You will also find a variety of Amsterdam shopping streets on the famous shopping streets of Amsterdam. Going Out / Food & drink / Interesting sites

To begin with there is the Map of Amsterdam. Many places to go out are on the Culture site Jordaan & Amsterdam Centre.
Then there are the famour brown cafés of Amsterdam. Many Amsterdam restaurants are compared in  (although it is in Dutch).
